Over the past 25 years I’ve had the great fortune to be part of successful technology companies that either went on to trade on public markets (Dendrite Cegedigm, Connect Inc., SuccessFactors) or were acquired by pubic companies and private equity investors (Extensity, Birst, ServiceMax). I thrive in the thrill-a-minute world of high growth software companies that face stiff competition on the road to market leadership. While my career started in IT, and Customer Service, Sales leadership and go-to-market strategy are my professional and intellectual foundation.

They say that being a CEO is one of the loneliest jobs in business. The pressure is always on to make the right decisions, hire and develop the right people, and pursue the right strategies, but you’re often alone in making the final call. 10X CEO is a highly curated peer-driven network for the world’s highest-performing, venture-backed CEOs.  They work together in tight, focused cohorts to identify and implement their highest value priorities, learn and practice new thought and action patterns, and achieve substantially greater sales and profit growth as a result. 

The AI Imperative:  AI unlocks the possibility for companies to grow much faster, have much higher margins (AI agents are more productive than humans), and require much less capital.

The elements for building exceptional companies in the AI era are:
·Market Position – Identifying and building a unique, increasingly valuable (and profitable) advantage in a “big enough” market.  This will be accomplished by using AI to solve (at scale) the most valuable problems and opportunities within specific markets. 

·       Leveraged Execution – AI will enable knowledge work to become almost free, better than most humans, and available 24/7 at scale.  10X CEOs will create this leverage by: 
o   Having total focus on identifying and executing only the highest leverage opportunities
o   Selecting and leading “AI leveraged” execs and teams
o   Creating AI workflows in product/engineering, GTM, and operational functions

·       Continuous Evaluation & Improvement – AI models and market opportunities are evolving at an accelerating rate.  The best AI era CEOs continually benchmark against their highest performing and most innovative peers.

10X CEO creates its unprecedented learning environment by (1) selecting high performing CEOs (2) who use a proprietary framework and tools for each CEO to benchmark their effectiveness (3) providing elite one-on-one coaching to help each CEO execute their opportunities better and faster  (4) harvesting AI and leadership best practices from the combined intelligence of the 10X CEO network.

10X CEO Qualifications:
·       Must be nominated/sponsored by a top-tier venture firm or current member of 10XCEO.

·       Must lead a company with $10 million - +$1 billion in annual revenue with rapid growth trajectories.

·       Must demonstrate the skill, desire, and focus to function at a 10X level.

·       Must be able and willing to contribute to the collective intelligence of the network. 

Cohort Tiers: Our CEOs form and meet quarterly in high-signal teams of 7.  Since CEO skill requirements change as the company scales, we tier our cohorts accordingly based on current revenue, growth rates, and CEO experience.
·       Top Tier/Public - $300 million - +$1 billion in run-rate revenue
·       Tier 1 - +$125 million - $300 million
·       Tier 2 - $30 million - $125 million
·       Tier 3 - $10 million - $30 million

The Selection Principle:  Selecting and matching CEOs is the key ingredient to the program’s success.  CEOs are not simply our customers; they are the most important element of our product.  For any CEO we select, we ask “would our existing CEOs pay to have this person as their advisor”?

Cohort Management: We are often asked about what we do when CEOs either outgrow or underperform their groups.  To manage this, we at least partially realign our groups every 12-18 months.  For example, several of our existing Tier 3 companies have made rapid rises past $30 million during the last year, so we promoted them to a later stage cohort.  We also must make tough decisions with CEOs when it becomes clear that their group is growing past them.  We have only seven available spots in each cohort, and we constantly remind both ourselves and our CEOs that it is our job to put the best players on the field.
